The Fletcher Academy Student Council provides students an opportunity to express themselves, get involved and take an active part in planning student activities. They have a chance to demonstrate their talents, and strengths and develop leadership skills that can be transferable to the community and workplace. Members of the TFA Student Council sponsor and organize a number of activities (spirit week, dances, fund raisers, assemblies etc.) and service projects (UNICEF, SADD, Change Challenge) and represent the student body to the faculty and administration. They work in conjunction with other groups to provide support and resources for their activities. Elections for officers are held each spring and are open to those students who have participated in Student Council during the current year, who maintain at least a C in all their courses and attend all meetings. Officers must be able to fulfill the responsibilities of their position and be serious about their commitment to the school community. All Fletcher Academy high school students are invited to join Student Council, to have an opportunity to meet and work with new people and to help make a difference! |
